Kate is showing more of an interest in her baby brother now that he can actually smile and coo at her (she likes that -- well, who doesn't?!) :) She's even gone so far as to share her precious (and oh, so ratty) "purple tiger" as Miss Jem calls it (or orange elephant, or yellow pig... you get the idea). :)

FINE!!!...

Okay, FINE! I'll stop deluding myself. My baby is not teeny-tiny or little or even remotely small. *sigh* He is a gigantic bruiser boy. (but only *I* am allowed to call him that) ;) He is still technically a newborn (the cry, the squeaks and grunts, the still-a-little-bit-wobbly head) but he's officially not "tiny" like I wanted to believe. (I guess when you start out at 8,14 you don't have a lot of hope of being tiny eh?) :) It's official... Heather Anderson will never have a "tiny" baby. Always wanted one. But that's okay. I'll take my big guy. He's healthy, he's chubby, he's my little hunky chunk...
He's a keeper. :)

And....... I think Amy said it best... ohmygoodness - all one word. Ben has had a MAJOR growth spurt just in the last week. He's huuuuuge!! His face is so fat now and the cheeks... wow. Very - how do I say it? plump! Todd was holding him the other night and calling him tubby and fatso and lardo. Poor baby... he's going to have a complex before he can even crawl!

My "bookends." :) The oldest and the youngest. Aren't they so HANDSOME?!

Also, thanks, Kim N. for the sweet little cozy outfit for Ben (notice I never said thank you for the "party in my crib at 2 a.m. shirt" - I'm not sure if I'm thankful for that or not). ;) Today is a snowday for the kids and I thought it was the perfect little comfy outfit for being snowed in - it even has a hat! :) AND... as one of the boys said, "Mom, doesn't he look great in blue?" Good thing since he happens to be a boy. :)

PROOF! My baby smiled before six weeks!! Actually, he's been smiling for a couple weeks now, though not consistently -- but now he smiles quite a bit. It's so sweet!

I can't even imagine how many times I've griped at the kids for putting their hands on the glass of the storm door. "Just push the FRAME of the door" I say... whyyyy do I bother??? (and why did I ever buy a dog?) :)

One of the few times Kate has been interested in holding Ben... I think she thinks he's boring - he doesn't DO anything, you know. :) I'm hoping that when he starts smiling at her and responding to her, she'll show a little more interest in him.
